Why Catalogs Break

Bad Catalog Data Costs More Than It Looks

Data entry sounds like the least important job in e-commerce, right up until you count what it costs when it goes wrong. A missing attribute keeps a product out of filtered search, so buyers never see it. A wrong category node buries it. Split parent-child variations scatter your reviews across half a dozen listings. Rejected flat files hold a launch back by weeks.

None of that shows up as an error message. It shows up as products that quietly do not sell, and nobody connects it back to a spreadsheet someone filled in months ago.

What We See in Most Catalogs

  • Half-filled attributes — only the required fields completed, so products vanish from every filter buyers actually use.
  • Wrong category nodes — listed under a category nobody browses, competing with the wrong products.
  • Broken variations — sizes and colours as separate listings, splitting reviews and ranking signals.
  • Copy-pasted supplier descriptions — identical text across a hundred sellers, so nothing distinguishes yours.
  • Images that fail platform rules — wrong dimensions, backgrounds or file sizes, silently rejected on upload.
  • No single source of truth — the same SKU priced and described differently on each channel.

Where We Work

Every Platform, One Catalog Team

Each platform has its own rules, templates and rejection quirks. We work in all of them daily, so your data goes in once and lands correctly everywhere.

Magento 1 & 2

Attribute sets, configurable products, category trees and CSV imports built to Magento's exact schema — including B2B tiered pricing.

Shopify

Products, variants, metafields and collection structure, uploaded in bulk without breaking existing handles.

WooCommerce

Variable products, attributes and taxonomies imported cleanly, with SEO fields populated as we go.

Amazon

Flat-file cataloging, parent-child variation nesting, browse-node mapping and backend search terms inside the byte limit.

Flipkart

Category-specific templates, mandatory attribute completion and Listing Quality Score-aware content.

Meesho & JioMart

Bulk catalog sheets built to each platform's current format, with images checked against their rules first.

eBay & Etsy

Item specifics, tags and attributes completed for search visibility on both marketplaces.

Multi-Channel Sync

One master catalog, pushed to every channel, so pricing and content never drift apart.

What's Included

More Than Typing Into Cells

Bulk Product Upload

Hundreds or thousands of SKUs uploaded per batch using validated templates, not one product at a time.

Category & Taxonomy Mapping

Products mapped to the nodes buyers actually browse, not the first plausible category in the list.

Attribute Completion

Every optional field that feeds a filter, filled — because filters are how buyers narrow down.

Variation Nesting

Sizes, colours and multipacks grouped under one parent so reviews and ranking signals stay together.

Description Writing

Original titles and descriptions written to platform rules, never pasted from the supplier sheet.

Image Formatting

Resizing, background cleanup and renaming to each platform's spec before upload, so nothing bounces.

Catalog Cleanup

Existing catalogs audited for duplicates, dead SKUs, wrong pricing and broken variations.

Ongoing Maintenance

New launches, price revisions and seasonal updates handled on a monthly retainer.

How It Works

Sample First, Then Scale

1

Free Sample Batch

Send us 20 SKUs and your target platform. We return them completed, so you judge the quality before paying anything.

2

Template & Rules Agreed

We lock the field mapping, naming conventions and image spec in writing, so every later batch is consistent.

3

Bulk Production

Batches uploaded on an agreed schedule, each one QC-checked against the template before it goes live.

4

Maintain or Hand Over

Keep us on a monthly retainer for new launches and updates, or take the master sheet and run it yourself.

How We Keep Quality Up at Volume

Data entry fails at scale for one reason: the rules live in somebody's head instead of in a document. So before the first bulk batch, we write down the field mapping, the naming convention, the image spec and the category logic, and every batch is checked against that sheet by someone who did not do the entry.

You get the master sheet too. It is yours — if you ever move this in-house or to another vendor, you are not starting from scratch.

Straight Answers on Pricing

Cataloging is usually priced per SKU, and the honest answer is that it depends on how much work each SKU needs. A simple product with supplier data and usable images is quick. A configurable product with fifteen variants, attributes to research and images to clean up is not the same job at all.

So we quote after the sample batch, when we know what your SKUs actually involve. Per-SKU for one-off projects, monthly retainer if you have a steady flow of new products.

Works Alongside

Selling on More Than One Channel?

This is where catalog work earns its keep. The same SKU has to satisfy Amazon's flat file, Flipkart's template and your own store's schema — all with different field names and rules.

We build one master catalog and map it outward, so a price change happens once instead of five times.

Cataloging FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything needed to take a product from a supplier sheet to a live, findable listing: titles and descriptions, category mapping, every attribute field, variation grouping, image formatting and the upload itself. It is not just typing — most of the value is in knowing which fields matter on which platform.
It depends on the SKU. A simple product with clean supplier data and usable images is quick; a configurable product with fifteen variants, missing attributes and images needing cleanup is a different job. We quote after the free sample batch, when we know what your products actually involve.
Yes. Magento is one of the more demanding platforms because of attribute sets, configurable product relationships and category trees. We build to your existing attribute schema rather than inventing a new one, and deliver as validated CSV imports so nothing breaks on load.
Volume depends on complexity, so we agree a realistic weekly batch size after the sample rather than quoting a headline number. Consistency matters more than a big first month — a rate we can sustain with QC intact beats a rush that has to be redone.
Original. Supplier text appears identically across every seller carrying that product, which helps neither search visibility nor conversion. We write to each platform's character limits and content rules.
Yes, and this is often the higher-value job. We audit for duplicates, broken variations, wrong categories, missing attributes and inconsistent pricing across channels, then fix in priority order — usually starting with your best-selling SKUs.
You do, entirely. The master catalog sheet, the field mapping document and the conventions we agreed are all yours to keep. We work monthly with no lock-in.
Yes — resizing, background cleanup, renaming and checking against each platform's rules before upload. Rejected images are one of the most common reasons a bulk upload fails, and they are avoidable.
